Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stirred controversy with his recent remarks, claiming that the Governor denied permission to arrest former minister and BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). He added that the alleged corruption in the Kaleshwaram Project was handed over to the CBI, yet even after three months, no visible action has been taken. Revanth suggested that this delay hints at a possible understanding between the BRS and BJP, questioning, “If there’s no connection between the two, why is the probe being delayed?” He went a step further, predicting that the BRS might soon merge with the BJP, recalling that Kavitha, a senior BRS leader, had previously spoken about such a proposal. He alleged that both parties are working together during the ongoing Jubilee Hills by-election, but expressed confidence that Congress will win with strong public support.
Revanth also stated that minority and Christian communities are backing the Congress, inspired by Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and its message of unity. On the other hand, Union Minister Kishan Reddy dismissed Revanth’s allegations, saying there is no connection between BJP and BRS. He countered by accusing the Congress and BRS of being “two sides of the same coin,” recalling that KCR served as a minister under Congress rule and later praised Sonia Gandhi after Telangana formation.
