Rs.500 Bonus Per Quintal for Fine Paddy: Minister Ponguleti

Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy made key remarks on the state government's 1,000 days in office, announcing a bonus of Rs.500 per quintal for fine paddy. He said the government was balancing development and welfare despite financial challenges and providing good governance. Alleging that the previous government had left behind a massive debt burden, he said the present administration was clearing pending bills worth Rs.40,000 crore. He added that welfare schemes such as Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak were being continued and pending dues to sarpanches had also been cleared.

Ponguleti said the government was providing security and support to farmers across crops and had taken steps to reform TSPSC and ensure transparent recruitment. He described job creation as a continuous process and criticised the BJP and BRS for their opposition to the government's programmes. Referring to Congress victories in the Cantonment and Jubilee Hills by-elections and local body polls, he said the party remained strong in both rural and urban areas. He also said the government would continue various welfare initiatives for women and other sections.
