BRS Working President KTR launched a strong attack on the Congress government during the Rythu Maha Dharna held in Miryalaguda, Nalgonda district. He said farmers were in distress as their crops were drying up and that the protest had become necessary to highlight their problems. KTR said Miryalaguda should be developed as the Rice Bowl of Telangana, but farmers were instead facing serious difficulties. He recalled that Congress leaders had made several promises during the elections, including investment support for tenant farmers.
KTR alleged that the Congress government had failed to fulfil its promises, including the waiver of farm loans up to Rs. 2 lakh. He also questioned the government over delays in the implementation of Rythu Bandhu and the delivery of Rythu Bima benefits. Referring to the promises made in the farmers' declaration, KTR alleged that the government had misled farmers and demanded the immediate implementation of all assurances made to the farming community.
