BCCI Holds Crucial Review on Team India!

The BCCI held a high-level review meeting at its headquarters in Mumbai to assess Team India’s recent performances and future plans. Head coach Gautam Gambhir, Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill, T20I captain Shreyas Iyer, Centre of Excellence chief VVS Laxman and senior BCCI officials attended the meeting. India’s disappointing results during the Ireland and England tours, player fitness, injury concerns and workload management were among the key issues discussed, along with preparations for the upcoming New Zealand tour and the roadmap for the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Senior batter Rohit Sharma’s future in ODI cricket was also reportedly among the important topics discussed during the meeting. While the BCCI has previously dismissed speculation surrounding his retirement, the board is continuing to review its long-term plans ahead of the 2027 World Cup. Reports also confirmed that VVS Laxman will serve as India’s head coach for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. The key stakeholders left without making any public comments after the meeting.
