VVS Laxman to Coach Team India

Former India batter VVS Laxman is set to serve as the coach of the Indian men’s cricket team for the 2026 Asian Games. The arrangement has reportedly received approval from the Union Sports Ministry. Laxman will take charge of the team in place of India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir, who is expected to remain in India due to the team’s ODI series against the West Indies scheduled around the same period. The 2026 Asian Games will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4. India’s men’s cricket team is expected to enter the competition directly at the quarter-final stage.
