The intensity of cold in Telangana has increased significantly. With minimum temperatures dropping by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius below normal, the weather across the state has become sharply colder. Especially in Hyderabad, the chill is spreading extensively. Early morning fog, cold winds, and dull weather are causing discomfort to residents. According to the Meteorological Department, on Monday (December 8), temperatures in several parts of the city fell to record lows. The cold is particularly severe in the outskirts, making it difficult for people to step outside in the mornings. Officials have warned that this situation is likely to continue in the coming days.
Looking at the temperatures recorded on Monday, the severity of the cold across various parts of the state is evident. At HCU, it was 9°C; BHEL recorded 10.6°C; Rajendranagar 10.7°C; Gachibowli 11°C; Shivaram Palle 12.4°C; Tatipaka Annaram and Machha Bollaram between 12.4°C–13.1°C. Similarly, Alwal recorded 13.2°C, other areas ranged between 13.3–13.5°C, Kukatpally 13.5°C, Begumpet 13.6°C, and Lingampally 14.2°C. These low temperatures indicate that the impact of winter has intensified in many parts of the state. Residents are advised to take precautions, especially the elderly, young children, and those with health conditions, who are recommended to take extra care when going outdoors in the cold.
