Farmers from several capital region villages met former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the YSRCP office in Tadepalli. Farmers from villages including Penumaka, Undavalli, Nidamarru, Errapalem, and Kuragallu raised concerns regarding land pooling, returnable flats, and alleged issues related to land acquisition.
The farmers complained about forced notifications, alleged threats, and destruction of agricultural lands in the name of development works. They also expressed concerns over alleged irregularities in temple lands and claimed that ongoing infrastructure projects were damaging their fields.
Responding to the farmers, YS Jagan said that forced land acquisition is not appropriate and assured support based on farmers’ welfare. He criticized the large-scale land acquisition plans and alleged irregularities in capital development. He suggested alternative development models like growth corridors and emphasized balanced regional development.
