As thousands of H-1B visa holders in the United States face uncertainty following widespread layoffs across the technology sector, Nvidia is emerging as a major source of opportunity. Under U.S. immigration rules, H-1B workers who lose their jobs must secure new employment within 60 days or leave the country. Against this backdrop, Nvidia has increased its focus on hiring global talent and has received approvals to recruit 1,200 employees under the H-1B category during the first two quarters of 2026, up from 1,000 during the same period last year. Since Indian professionals account for more than 70 percent of all H-1B visa holders, a significant share of these opportunities is expected to benefit Indian talent.
In addition to expanding recruitment, Nvidia is offering highly competitive compensation packages to attract top AI and engineering professionals. Annual salaries are expected to reach approximately $391,000 for engineers, $356,500 for research scientists, and even higher for managerial and director-level positions. The company is actively hiring in artificial intelligence, software engineering, chip design, cloud infrastructure, and customer-facing technical roles. Meanwhile, Nvidia has also unveiled its AI-powered “RTX Spark” chip, which aims to transform the personal computer experience by enabling AI agents to perform tasks with minimal reliance on traditional input devices such as a mouse and keyboard. The new chip was introduced by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in Taipei and is expected to reach the market later this year.
