The Telangana government has extended the deadline for applications for Cheyutha social security pensions by another 15 days. Following the directions of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Dr. Dhanasari Anasuya Seethakka, applications will now be accepted until September 15. The decision was taken after the government received representations that several eligible people were unable to apply within the earlier deadline due to the ongoing special SIR process, particularly in Hyderabad. Persons with disabilities had also requested additional time to submit their applications.
The extended deadline will provide an opportunity for eligible widows, single women, persons with disabilities and other economically weaker families who have not yet applied to submit their applications. Minister Seethakka said social security pensions are an important source of support for poor families and that no eligible person should be deprived of welfare benefits due to lack of information or other difficulties. She directed officials and staff to provide full assistance during the application process, particularly to persons with disabilities, and urged all eligible applicants to make use of the opportunity before September 15.
