Telangana , AP Post Poor Performance In MP lads

Although the Centre allocates ₹5 crore annually to Members of Parliament (MPs) to undertake development works in their respective constituencies, many MPs are falling behind in utilizing the funds. Newly released data from the Centre shows that MPs from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are no exception. Interestingly, the list also includes Union ministers.

Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to power in 2024, ₹11,681 crore has been released to MPs across 36 states and Union Territories, but only ₹3,964 crore, or 33.9%, has been spent. MPs from Nagaland topped the country by utilizing 94.6% of the MPLADS funds available to them. In Gujarat, Prime Minister Modi’s home state, MPs spent only 26.87% of the funds on development works.

In Telangana, ₹394 crore was allocated to MPs from both Houses of Parliament, of which only ₹94 crore, or 23.8%, was spent. The data shows that 91.3% of MPs recorded poor performance, while 4.3% did not undertake any development works at all.In Andhra Pradesh, MPs were allocated ₹554 crore, but only ₹127 crore, or 23%, was utilized. BJP MP and Union Minister Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma did not spend a single rupee from the ₹14 crore allocated to him.
