A group of 50 Members of Parliament in the United Kingdom has raised concerns over the human rights situation in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). In a signed letter, the lawmakers called for greater transparency, accountability, and stronger protection of fundamental rights in the region. The letter reportedly highlights issues related to freedom of expression, political representation, and the treatment of local residents.
The MPs urged the UK government and the international community to closely monitor developments in the region and support efforts aimed at safeguarding democratic freedoms and human rights. Their intervention has once again brought international attention to the long-standing concerns surrounding governance and civil liberties in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
