

Telangana Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said houses similar to the proposed Indiramma Towers in the Core Urban Region (CUR) under the Outer Ring Road limits would also be constructed in other municipal corporations across the state and allotted to eligible poor beneficiaries. The minister made the statement while responding to questions raised by MLCs including Teenmar Mallanna, Baswaraju Saraiah, Satyam, AVN Reddy, Anjireddy, Shankar Naik and Bhanu Prasad during Question Hour in the Legislative Council on the Indiramma Housing Scheme.
Ponguleti said permissions had been granted for 4.50 lakh houses in the first phase, with 3.28 lakh houses currently at various stages of construction. Of these, 1.97 lakh houses have been completed and beneficiaries have already performed housewarming ceremonies. The government aims to enable two lakh beneficiaries to move into their own homes by Dussehra. In the second phase, another two lakh houses have been sanctioned, with the beneficiary selection process to be completed by September 20. Another one lakh houses are being constructed in the CUR area, and work on the Indiramma Towers will begin soon, he said.
