The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has issued a three-line whip to its Members of the Legislative Council ahead of the Assembly proceedings. The party directed all its MLCs to attend the session on Tuesday without fail and instructed them to adhere to the party’s stand during debates. The whip also requires members to follow the party’s decision on bills, resolutions and voting. The party has warned that violation of the whip could result in disqualification.
The decision comes against the backdrop of the controversy surrounding BRS MLC Thatha Madhu’s remarks, with the possibility of the issue being discussed in the House. The party’s directive is aimed at ensuring that its MLCs remain present and vote in accordance with the official party position during the proceedings. Any further action on the controversy is expected to be considered in the course of the Assembly session.
