Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu announced that US-based ProtoLabs is set to establish a world-class Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad. The facility, being developed in collaboration with Arohan Global Consulting, is expected to generate employment for around 300 skilled professionals. A delegation from ProtoLabs met the minister at the Secretariat to discuss expansion plans, with the government welcoming Hyderabad’s selection as a strategic destination.
The minister highlighted that nearly 80 GCCs have been established in the past year, driven by advanced infrastructure, a strong ecosystem, and industry-friendly policies. He noted that Telangana is emerging as a key hub for defense and aerospace industries, supported by skilled engineering talent and robust digital infrastructure. The new center will focus on advanced engineering, design, prototyping, and digital manufacturing, strengthening Hyderabad’s position in high-value manufacturing. He added that the initiative will benefit startups, MSMEs, and large industries by enabling faster product development and reducing dependency on overseas manufacturing.
