The Madras High Court has dismissed a petition filed by actress Tamannaah Bhatia against Power Soaps, citing lack of sufficient evidence to support her allegations. The court upheld the earlier ruling, stating that the claims made by the actress could not be substantiated with appropriate proof.
The dispute dates back to a 2008 agreement between Tamannaah and the company for brand promotions, which permitted the use of her images until October 2009. However, the actress alleged that her photographs were used without authorization between 2010 and 2011 and sought ₹1 crore in damages. Challenging the single judge’s verdict, she approached a division bench, which ultimately upheld the previous judgment and dismissed her plea.
