Rahul Gandhi has alleged that personnel in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) are facing injustice in promotions and leadership appointments. Extending greetings on the occasion of CRPF Raising Day, he said that despite their decades of service in combating naxalism, terrorism, and ensuring smooth conduct of elections, CAPF personnel are often denied timely promotions. He criticized the practice of appointing outsiders to top leadership positions, stating that it affects the dignity and morale of the forces.
Rahul Gandhi assured that if his party comes to power, the system will be reformed to ensure that leadership roles are given to deserving CAPF personnel instead of external appointees. Meanwhile, the central government has recently passed a bill aimed at introducing a unified system to oversee recruitment and promotions across the five CAPF units. Despite opposition demands to send the bill to a parliamentary joint committee, it was approved in both Houses of Parliament.
