Reports in national media indicate that another Tejas fighter jet was involved in an incident during the first week of this month. Early information suggests a technical issue may have been the cause. To review the situation in detail, the Indian Air Force has temporarily paused Tejas jet operations. Around 30 single-seat jets are said to have been grounded for inspections.
According to media reports, the incident occurred during a training exercise at a key Air Force base. The pilot is believed to have ejected safely. Initial assessments point to a possible technical fault. Authorities have ordered thorough checks before resuming flights.
Officials note that this is the third such incident since the Tejas was inducted. In 2024, a Tejas jet crashed near Jaisalmer during a military exercise, though the pilot survived. In November last year, a fighter aircraft crashed at the Dubai Airshow, resulting in the pilot’s death. The latest development comes while the investigation into that crash is still ongoing.
