A shocking and heartbreaking incident unfolded in Narayanavanam mandal of Tirupati district, where an entire family was wiped out within a span of a few hours under mysterious circumstances. Mohan allegedly murdered his wife Haritha (33) and mother Chandrakala (65) at their residence in Venkata Krishnapalem village. The couple lived with their two children, Kaushik (14) and Harini (12), who were studying in a private school in Puttur. Mohan ran a cement shop, while Haritha managed a tailoring business. The crime came to light when Haritha’s brother Balakrishna, who had been staying with them, discovered the bodies after Mohan failed to return home and his phone was switched off. Police suspect that Mohan strangled both victims using a scarf.
Later in the evening, Mohan reportedly brought his children back from school under the pretext of a relative’s death. He travelled across several areas before stopping near Vegunta railway station. In a tragic turn, he laid his head on the railway tracks. Shocked and pleading with him to stop, the children attempted to save their father, but all three were run over by a high-speed train. Despite preliminary findings suggesting no financial or family disputes, the motive behind the gruesome act remains unclear. Separate cases have been registered by local police and railway authorities, and investigations are ongoing.
