India Women’s team continues to face a difficult tour of South Africa, suffering consecutive defeats in the T20I series. In the third T20I played in Johannesburg, India lost to South Africa by nine wickets. With this result, the visitors have conceded the five-match series 3-0. Despite the team’s defeat, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur achieved a remarkable personal milestone by creating a world record in women’s T20 cricket.
Harmanpreet Kaur has now become the highest run-scoring captain in the history of Women’s T20 Internationals. The previous record was held by Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu, who had scored 3,016 runs. Harmanpreet surpassed that mark during the third T20I and now leads the chart with 3,017 runs. She played an outstanding innings in Johannesburg, scoring 66 runs off 38 balls with seven fours and three sixes, emerging as India’s top scorer in the match. Former Australia captain Meg Lanning occupies third place on the list with 2,619 runs, followed by Charlotte Edwards with 2,529 and Suzie Bates with 2,236 runs.
