Reports recently claimed that Bharat Ratna awardee and renowned scientist CNR Rao had received a notice during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Karnataka. According to the reports, his name appeared as “Prof CNR Rao” in the previous voter list, while an additional letter was reportedly added in the revised list, prompting officials to issue a notice and ask him to visit the Malleshwaram office in Bengaluru to resolve the discrepancy.
However, Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer has clarified that there is no truth in these reports. Responding on X, the CEO said that considering CNR Rao’s contributions to the nation, no notice had been issued to him or any member of his family. A representative from CNR Rao’s office also confirmed that he had not received any such notice. The clarification comes amid reports surrounding the electoral roll revision process in Karnataka.
