BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) has criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over the implementation of election promises made to the people of Telangana. Describing Rahul Gandhi as a “missing leader,” KTR alleged that he speaks about students’ concerns during visits to other states but avoids addressing Telangana’s issues. He also accused Rahul Gandhi of remaining silent on what he described as corruption and irregularities under the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
KTR questioned the status of the 420 promises that Congress reportedly made before the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections. He recalled the party’s commitment to implementing six guarantees within 100 days of coming to power, along with promises associated with 13 declarations. According to KTR, more than 1,000 days have passed, and the government must explain its progress. He also criticised the BJP government at the Centre, alleging that it promotes divisions, while accusing the Congress government in Telangana of misusing state resources. These are political allegations made by KTR; the Congress leadership’s response was not included in the report.
