Unseasonal heavy rain has caused significant damage to paddy crops in Rangapur village of Achampet mandal. Farmers Pandya Naik and Balaram cultivated paddy on their agricultural land and were expecting to harvest the crop in about 20 days. However, heavy rainfall on Friday flattened the nearly mature crop, putting months of hard work at risk.
The affected farmers expressed deep distress over the loss, stating that they had struggled to protect their crops despite inadequate rainfall and had relied on the available borewell water. The unexpected rain has now caused further hardship just weeks before harvest. Villagers have appealed to the government to assess the crop damage and extend financial assistance to the affected farmers.
