Tamil film star Dhanush has attracted attention amid growing speculation about a possible political entry after meeting around 3,000 women fan club representatives and volunteers in Chennai on October 25, 2026. The gathering reportedly took place at a private engineering college, with women travelling from different parts of Tamil Nadu to attend. The meeting has fuelled discussion about his future plans, particularly following changes to his fan association and its organisational structure.
The association, previously known as Dhanush Narpani Mandram, has reportedly been renamed Dhanush Narpani Iyakkam, with a new logo and a renewed focus on welfare activities. These developments have prompted comparisons with actor Vijay’s journey from fan organisations to political activity. Political leaders have also reportedly commented on the possibility of Dhanush entering politics, while Congress leader Manickam Tagore has alleged that the BJP is attempting to use film personalities to influence Tamil Nadu politics. However, these remain political claims and speculation. Dhanush has not officially announced plans to enter politics or establish a party, and the purpose of the recent meeting could also be linked to expanding social-service initiatives. His future political intentions, if any, remain unconfirmed.
