As the midterm elections in America approach, California Republican Party candidate Ritesh Tandon has strongly criticized the policies of his own party, President Donald Trump. He accused Trump's policies of being responsible for many of the problems facing the people of California. Tandon is contesting for the House of Representatives from California's 17th Congressional District. Current Democratic Party MP Ro Khanna is Tandon's opponent. Tandon spoke to a news agency. He said that Trump's policies have increased inflation in the country, increased interest rates, increased cost of living, and the unemployment problem is serious.
Tandon criticized the US for imposing heavy tariffs on its rivals as well as allies. "Due to the tariffs imposed by Trump, prices have now gone up not only in the Bay Area but across America. Inflation is high. Earlier, interest rates on home loans were between 4 and 5 percent. Now they have reached 7.5 percent. Gas prices have also gone up," Tandon explained.
Tandon said that the start of the war with Iran has led to an increase in oil prices in the US, which has affected other commodities as well. 'Earlier, the price of diesel was between 3 and 4 dollars. Now it has reached 8 to 9 dollars. With the increase in the price of diesel, the cost of transporting goods has also increased. Due to this, the prices of all commodities are increasing. Those living on daily earnings in America are facing severe difficulties,' Tandon said. Tandon promised that if he wins the elections, he will work to stop the war and take steps to control inflation.
