Defending champions India are ready to begin their campaign in the Junior Asia Cup hockey tournament with the aim of retaining both titles. The Under-21 men’s team, led by defender Anmol Ekka, is targeting a record sixth championship. India will play Indonesia on September 5, Japan on September 6, Korea on September 8 and Chinese Taipei on September 9 in Pool A.
The women’s team, captained by Khaidem Shileimachanu, will also begin its campaign on September 5 against Korea. The Indian women will then face Malaysia on September 6, Japan on September 8 and China on September 9. With both teams entering the tournament as defending champions, expectations are high for another strong title challenge.
