Chandrababu Plotting to Delay Local Body Polls - YS Jagan

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is conspiring to delay local body elections in the state. Jagan questioned whether the elections would be held smoothly and accused the government of using the announcement of 34% reservation for Backward Classes as a political tactic. He claimed that the government was aware that the reservation proposal could face legal scrutiny and was using it as a pretext to postpone the polls.

Jagan further alleged that elections would not be conducted fairly while Chandrababu Naidu remained Chief Minister and accused the government of resorting to cases, arrests and other measures against those who questioned it. Describing the government’s approach as “diversion politics”, he said the YSR Congress Party would remain with the people irrespective of the circumstances. Jagan expressed confidence that the YSRCP would emerge victorious if the elections were conducted freely and fairly, while calling on party workers to fight strongly even if attempts were made to disrupt the electoral process.
