Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Saturday accused the BJP of turning Goa into its "piggy bank". Rahul Gandhi was addressing the concluding session of the 'Goi Rakhon Yatra' in Goa's Madgaon. He also took a dig at the BJP government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
People are well aware of how election irregularities are taking place in the country," he said. "While Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar is implementing voter fraud and irregularities, Amit Shah is running it and Narendra Modi is planning it from behind," he said.
"The property and land of the people of Goa is being snatched away from the local farmers and poor and sold to the rich," he said. "Goa is not the property of the Chief Minister, it belongs to the people here," he said. "BJP leaders have turned Goa into a hub of corruption and their own piggy bank.
He said that Goa has the highest unemployment rate in the country and the youth here have no future and have to migrate abroad. On the one hand, the common people are suffering, while the assets of the BJP leaders and the chief minister's family are increasing exponentially."Contracts related to airports, roads, power plants and defence sectors are being awarded to industrialists like Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani," he said.Rahul Gandhi said that the perception of the BJP's unstoppable power in the country and the '56-inch chest' propaganda have now been shattered and the youth of the country have realised their true selves.
