Jan Suraj Party chief and prominent political strategist Prashant Kishor (PK) has unexpectedly showered praise on former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He described Nitish as one of the top 10 most effective leaders in Bihar’s history who genuinely cared about society. Kishor made these interesting remarks while campaigning for the Bihar Legislative Council elections in Vaishali.
Speaking about Nitish Kumar, PK said, “When he was healthy and active, he worked sincerely for the development of the state. However, when he was unwell, others ran the government in his name. I opposed many irregularities that took place during that period.”
Kishor also defended Nitish amid allegations against JD(U) MLA Anant Singh, describing Nitish as a wise leader. Nitish enjoys strong support in the Patna Graduates’ constituency. Political observers believe Kishor’s remarks may be part of a strategy to appeal to these voters. Kishor had previously been a close associate of Nitish Kumar and served as the national vice-president of the JD(U).
Meanwhile, Kishor responded to a viral video clip featuring his remarks about Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. He challenged the government, saying, “If the argument that everyone with a case registered against them at a police station should be shot is correct, then by that logic, Samrat Choudhary would also be a criminal. If my remarks are wrong, the government can file a case against me.” Kishor urged people to vote beyond caste and religious considerations, focusing instead on education, employment, and respect for teachers As part of the same campaign, he expressed deep sorrow over the boat accident in Vaishali that claimed the lives of 15 children. He announced that he would spend the Dussehra festival with the bereaved families. He also criticised the NDA government for failing to send anyone to visit and console the affected families.
