In a significant turn of events in the Formula E race investigation, senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar, who was recently suspended by the Telangana government, is reportedly seeking to turn as an 'approver' in the case. Following the central government’s (DoPT) clearance for his prosecution and the Governor’s nod to prosecute former minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is now gearing up to file a comprehensive chargesheet.
Along with KTR and Arvind Kumar, former Chief Engineer B.L.N. Reddy and three others are expected to be named as accused. Reports suggest that Arvind Kumar has reached out to high-ranking ACB officials through various channels to discuss the possibility of becoming a state witness. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also concluded its investigation into the money laundering aspect of the case. With all legal hurdles cleared, both the ACB and ED are likely to submit their respective chargesheets in court shortly, marking a crucial phase in this high-profile corruption probe.
