Veteran actor Kamal Haasan has made strong and thought-provoking comments on the leak of Jananayagan, starring Vijay. The film, which was slated for release on January 9, faced delays due to censor issues and has remained postponed since then. Amid this uncertainty, leaked scenes from the film have gone viral, creating a major stir in the Tamil film industry. Several stars have come out in support of Vijay, while the makers have issued strict warnings against sharing leaked content, stating that it is a punishable offense.
Reacting to the issue, Kamal Haasan stated that the leak was not accidental but a result of systemic failure. He pointed out that delays in the certification process created a favorable environment for piracy, calling it an attack not just on cinema but on the hard work of artists and technicians. Actress Pooja Hegde also expressed deep concern, stating that such leaks destroy the efforts of thousands involved in filmmaking. Prominent actors like Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, and Suriya condemned the incident and urged audiences to reject piracy and watch films in theatres. The production house has initiated legal action against those responsible, warning of criminal cases against accounts sharing leaked clips.
