ISRO has successfully carried out the LVM-3 M-6 rocket launch from the Sriharikota spaceport, marking a major milestone in India’s space journey. The heavy-lift rocket precisely placed the American communication satellite BlueBird Block-2 into orbit within just 15 minutes. This mission is significant as it is the first time ISRO has launched such a massive commercial communication satellite, demonstrating its growing global capabilities.
The mission was conducted in collaboration with US-based AST SpaceMobile. BlueBird Block-2 is designed to provide 4G and 5G connectivity from space across the globe. Reacting to the success, ISRO Chairman S. Narayanan described the launch as a “Bahubali mission” and stated that the LVM-3 series has been achieving consistent success. He highlighted that the rocket was developed and executed in a very short timeframe for an international customer. This launch marks the ninth successful mission in the LVM-3 rocket series.
