Speculation over Tamil actor Dhanush’s possible entry into politics has been gaining momentum in recent months. The discussion intensified after his fan club was renamed ‘Dhanush Narpani Iyakkam’, a move that sparked talk of a potential political launch. Responding to the developments, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) said it would welcome Dhanush if he decided to enter politics. Party spokesperson M. Sathyakumar said he was pleased that the party’s journey was inspiring others to consider a political career. He pointed out that Vijay stepped away from films to focus on politics when he was at the peak of his acting career. Sathyakumar also said Vijay had worked towards this goal for 30 years, adding that establishing a political party was only the first step, while sustaining it and winning elections presented a different challenge.
Meanwhile, reports have claimed that Dhanush registered a political party named ‘Tamilaga Ezhuchi Kazhagam’ with the Election Commission. However, no official announcement confirming the development has been made. Dhanush’s recent meetings and the social welfare activities organised through his fan associations have further fuelled speculation about his political plans. Reports have also highlighted the unveiling of a distinctive red-and-white flag by his fan club. While these developments have prompted discussions about a possible political career, Dhanush’s entry into politics remains unconfirmed pending an official announcement.
