Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the Dussehra celebrations in Delhi this evening, prompting authorities to put extensive security arrangements in place for the Ravana Dahan ceremony. Around 2,500 personnel, including central paramilitary forces, Delhi Police personnel and SWAT commandos, have been deployed. Officials said a three-tier security system has been established for the Prime Minister’s visit. The Special Protection Group (SPG) will oversee the innermost security layer, the Prime Minister’s security team will manage the middle layer, and Delhi Police will monitor the outer perimeter.
According to officials, Modi is expected to arrive at the venue at around 6:30 p.m. Entry will be restricted to people carrying valid passes. Security checks will be conducted at entry points, where metal detectors and baggage scanners have been installed. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajiv Kumar said the arrangements were designed to ensure the safety of attendees and maintain security throughout the celebrations. Personnel have been deployed across the venue to monitor entry and movement during the event.
