The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has suffered a setback in the Mangalagiri constituency, with several senior party leaders joining the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Senior YSRCP leaders Damarla Kuber Swamy and Tholeti Ravindra, along with Duggirala mandal leader Sheikh Abdul Salam and others, joined the TDP in the presence of Minister Nara Lokesh. Lokesh welcomed them into the party by presenting them with yellow scarves. The development has drawn attention in Mangalagiri’s political circles.
Speaking on the occasion, Nara Lokesh said roads, Shadikhana facilities and community buildings would be constructed in Duggirala. He noted that the people of Mangalagiri had elected him with a substantial majority in the 2024 elections, increasing his responsibility towards the constituency. He assured residents that he would remain accessible to them at all times. Lokesh also urged party leaders and workers to work together and contribute to the alliance’s victory in the upcoming local body elections.
