To make the Sankranti festival more grand and memorable, the Telangana Tourism and Culture Department is making extensive arrangements. As part of these celebrations, a three-day International Kites and Hot Air Balloons Festival will be organized.
The kite festival will be held from January 13 to 15 at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds. More than 50 international kite flyers from countries such as Indonesia, Switzerland, Australia, Sri Lanka, Canada, Italy, Taiwan, South Africa, and the Netherlands are expected to participate in the event.
In addition, around 60 kite club members and professional kite flyers from various Indian states, including Telangana, Gujarat, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Haryana, and Andhra Pradesh, will also take part in the celebrations.
Furthermore, a hot air balloon display will be organized at Gandipet, on the outskirts of the city, according to Valluru Kranti, Managing Director of the Telangana State Tourism Corporation.
Along with the kite festival at the Parade Grounds, visitors can explore national and international handicraft stalls, enjoy special traditional dishes, and relish Sankranti sweets. The government aims to attract both city residents and tourists through this vibrant cultural event.
