Today, the Hot Air Balloon Festival began with great enthusiasm at the Golf Club near the historic Golconda Fort. Minister for Tourism and Culture, Jupally Krishnarao, inaugurated the event and personally took a ride in the balloon. He traveled about 13 kilometers over the city for nearly one and a half hours, describing it as a thrilling and memorable experience. The festival started near Golconda Fort and concluded at Appoji Good outskirts.
Minister Jupally said this marks a new chapter in Telangana tourism. While the ‘International Kite & Sweet Festival’ showcases Telangana’s culture, tradition and hospitality, the Hot Air Balloon and Drone Festivals highlight modern technology and a futuristic vision to the world. Strengthening the “Destination Telangana” brand aims to attract both domestic and international tourists.
He added that these events are designed not just for sightseeing but for a unique, unforgettable experience. The new tourism policy encourages private investments, develops world-class facilities in partnership and provides quality services. This initiative also creates employment opportunities for local youth. Minister Jupally expressed hope that families, youth and children will cherish the festival as a sweet memory.
