Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, accompanied by his wife, participated in the grand celestial wedding ceremony (Kalyana Mahotsavam) of Lord Sita and Rama held at Ontimitta. On this auspicious occasion, they presented silk robes and pearl talambralu (sacred rice mixed with pearls) to the deities. Temple priests presented the Chief Minister and his wife with a portrait of the Lord, along with teertha (holy water) and prasadam (sacred food offering). Subsequently, the Chief Minister commenced his address amidst chants of "Jai Shri Ram."
Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu affirmed that, with the blessings of Lord Rama, his administration would uphold and deliver governance rooted in Dharma (righteousness). He remarked that the mere mention of Lord Rama's name evokes thoughts of exemplary governance, and stated that his objective is to provide a similar standard of administration within the state. He shared that he had prayed to Lord Rama for the state to remain ever-prosperous, and for its people to be blessed with happiness and good health.
He recalled that during the era of the united state, Sri Rama Navami celebrations were traditionally held at Bhadrachalam; however, following the state's bifurcation, Ontimitta was brought under the purview of the TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams), where the annual Brahmotsavams are now being celebrated with great grandeur. Furthermore, while making reference to the fact that the bill designating Amaravati as the state capital was approved in the Lok Sabha, Chief Minister Chandrababu reiterated his unwavering commitment to delivering a system of governance akin to the legendary "Rama Rajya."
