There have been many speculations on social media about the release date of Thalapathy Vijay’s prestigious film ‘Jana Nayagan’. According to the latest reports, the censor process for the film is expected to be completed this week. The makers are reportedly planning to release the film on April 24, 2026, right after the election polling is over. This decision is said to be taken strategically to avoid any political impact on the movie.
Releasing on April 24 could give the film a strong advantage at the box office, as there are no major competing films at that time. Additionally, the upcoming May Day holiday period may help boost collections. On the other hand, if the release is planned for April 30, the film may face tough competition from big releases like ‘Kara’ and ‘Peddi’. Hence, industry sources suggest that the makers are aiming for an April 24 release to avoid clashes.
Initially, ‘Jana Nayagan’ was planned for a Sankranti release on January 9 this year, but it was postponed due to censor issues. The film has now become very important in Vijay’s career, especially as he is entering politics and contesting elections for the first time. Currently, KVN Productions is waiting for clearance from the revising committee. Once the certification process is completed this week, an official announcement about the release date is expected.
