

Cyberabad Traffic Police conducted a special weekend drunk and drive enforcement drive across the Cyberabad limits, resulting in the apprehension of 377 offenders. Of these, 300 cases involved two-wheelers, 17 three-wheelers, 58 four-wheelers, and 2 heavy vehicles. Police stated that the drive was aimed at curbing drunk driving and enhancing road safety during peak weekend hours.
Based on Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels, 317 offenders were found with BAC between 35 mg/100 ml and 200 mg/100 ml, while 39 offenders recorded levels between 201 mg/100 ml and 300 mg/100 ml. Another 21 offenders had dangerously high BAC levels ranging from 301 mg/100 ml to 550 mg/100 ml. All offenders will be produced before the Hon’ble Court. Cyberabad Police warned that drunk driving leading to fatal accidents will attract stringent action under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, carrying a maximum punishment of up to 10 years of imprisonment along with a fine.
