The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has brought welcome news for Andhra Pradesh, forecasting heavy rainfall across several parts of the state over the next two days. Yellow alerts have been issued for Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Eluru, West Godavari, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla and Palnadu districts, where moderate to heavy showers are expected. The anticipated rainfall is likely to provide relief from the prevailing heat conditions, with temperatures expected to decline gradually across the region.
Meanwhile, strong winds are expected to persist along the South Coastal Andhra region for the next two days. In view of rough sea conditions, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea along the South Andhra coast during this period. The IMD has also indicated that the southwest monsoon is likely to make its onset over Kerala within the next 48 hours, signaling the beginning of the monsoon season and raising hopes for widespread rainfall across southern India.
