The Telangana Housing Corporation has issued a strict warning to beneficiaries of government-provided double-bedroom houses. Housing Corporation MD PV Gautam announced that if any beneficiary attempts to sell their allotted 2BHK house, criminal cases will be filed under the POT Act. He further stated that such illegally sold houses will be taken back by the government.
Gautam also clarified that even renting out these double-bedroom houses is prohibited, and doing so will lead to cancellation of the allotment. A survey has already been completed in GHMC limits, and a similar survey will soon be conducted in all districts.
Authorities have identified cases in Kollur and Rampally, where some beneficiaries attempted to sell their double-bedroom homes for ₹20 lakh to ₹50 lakh. The Housing Department has said strict action will follow against such individuals.
