Discussions over the formation of the new Karnataka cabinet have intensified in Delhi, with Siddaramaiah and D.K. Shivakumar holding meetings with the party high command. Sources indicate that a consensus has been reached on nearly ten names, while discussions are also underway regarding Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council positions.
Differences remain over the allocation of key posts. Siddaramaiah is reportedly pushing for greater representation of AHINDA communities and has proposed several senior leaders for Deputy Chief Minister positions. However, D.K. Shivakumar is said to oppose appointing multiple Deputy Chief Ministers, arguing that it could create additional power centers within the government. The first phase of the cabinet expansion is expected to include 10 to 20 ministers, while D.K. Shivakumar is set to take oath as Chief Minister on Tuesday.
