Tirumala witnessed a record influx of devotees during May, with over 25.46 lakh pilgrims visiting the temple of Lord Venkateswara. According to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the highest single day footfall was recorded on May 24, when 98,058 devotees had darshan of the deity.
TTD also announced that the temple's hundi collections reached ₹120.28 crore during the month. Additionally, 12.29 lakh devotees offered their hair as part of religious vows. Officials attribute the surge in pilgrim numbers to summer holidays and examination results, and expect the heavy rush to continue through the first two weeks of June.
