Bangladesh pacer Jahanara Alam has made serious allegations of sexual harassment against former national selector Manjurul Islam, claiming she faced repeated misconduct during the 2022 Women’s ODI World Cup. Jahanara, who is currently on a mental health break, revealed that she endured inappropriate behavior and indecent proposals from the team management during that period.
According to Jahanara, Manjurul’s actions went beyond professionalism — she alleged that he came uncomfortably close and made offensive personal remarks, including asking about her menstrual cycle. She also claimed that after rejecting his advances, she faced career setbacks, with Manjurul reportedly becoming a roadblock in her national selection.
The revelations have triggered widespread calls for an official investigation from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Fans and women’s rights advocates have expressed support for Jahanara, praising her for the courage to speak up and urging authorities to ensure accountability within the cricket system.
