After a festive Diwali weekend packed with releases, Tollywood’s mid-October lineup has offered audiences a mix of emotional dramas, youthful entertainers, and experimental stories. Films like Telusu Kada, K-Ramp, Mithra Mandali and Dude hit theatres around the same time, each catering to different audience groups. While some aimed for heart-touching storytelling, others relied on youthful energy and humor.
Telusu Kada:
Siddu Jonnalagadda’s Telusu Kada, which was released on October 17th, has seen a decent start but slowed down after the weekend. The film has collected around ₹7.35 crore net in India in its 5 days of Theatrical run. Despite mixed word of mouth, family audiences have given it moderate support, especially in urban centers like Hyderabad and Vizag.
K-Ramp:
Kiran Abbavaram’s comedy-drama K-Ramp, which was released on October 18th, has turned out to be the surprise performer of the Diwali season. The film opened at ₹2.15 crore net on Day 1 and continued its steady run, amassing about ₹7.4 crore net in India in its 4 days of theatrical run. With positive word of mouth and youth appeal, the movie is likely to cross the ₹10 crore mark soon.
Mithra Mandali:
This small-budget emotional drama, despite a decent premise, failed to connect with the audience. It has managed just about ₹2.7 crore gross worldwide in its first five days. The limited promotions and heavy competition from festive releases seem to have affected its reach.
Dude (Telugu-Dubbed):
The Telugu dubbed version of the Tamil hit Dude, released on october 17th performed well in some Telugu territories. It grossed around ₹1.8 crore in the Nizam region during the weekend, maintaining decent occupancy amid multiple big releases.
