The Telangana government has intensified efforts to obtain the necessary approvals for the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II project without delay. MA&UD Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan directed the concerned central and state government departments to speed up the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs), which are crucial for securing further approvals from the Centre and ensuring smooth implementation of the project.
A coordination meeting was held at the Secretariat with departments and ministries associated with existing, ongoing and proposed projects along the seven proposed Phase-II corridors. HMRL Managing Director and HMDA Metropolitan Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed also attended the meeting. Officials discussed the proposed 122.9-km network and permissions related to land acquisition, railway crossings, water bodies including the Musi River near Nagole, gas pipelines and construction within the airport boundary. Metro officials requested the concerned departments to issue the required NOCs at the earliest.
