Telangana is preparing strategies to maximize benefits from the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) signed between India and the United Kingdom, said IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu. He noted that the UK has removed tariffs on 99 percent of industrial goods exported from India. During a meeting with a UK delegation led by Deputy Trade Commissioner Chandru K Iyer, the minister expressed confidence in a significant rise in bilateral trade.
He highlighted that Telangana offers a favorable ecosystem for investments in sectors such as industrial manufacturing, life sciences, aviation, defence, IT, and semiconductors. Currently, exports from the state to the UK stand at Rs. 3,553 crore, with strong potential for growth under the new agreement. Telangana also leads in pharma, vaccines, and aviation manufacturing, attracting major global companies to Hyderabad.
