

Bharti Airtel has taken the lead over Reliance Jio in adding new mobile subscribers during July, according to the latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Airtel added around 2.68 million mobile users during the month, while Jio gained about 2.44 million. Vodafone Idea added 0.24 million users, while BSNL recorded an addition of around 0.168 million subscribers.
Overall, India’s wireless subscriber base increased by 5.538 million during July, taking the total to around 1.2879 billion. Airtel’s wireless subscriber base reached 489.4 million, while Jio stood at 506 million and Vodafone Idea at 199 million. The country’s broadband subscriber base also grew from 1.0875 billion to 1.0944 billion by the end of the month.
