Mandhana Sets a World Record in Women’s Cricket

India star opener Smriti Mandhana achieved a major milestone during the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 match against Thailand. At a personal score of 14, she surpassed former New Zealand batter Suzie Bates’ aggregate of 10,740 international runs across formats. Mandhana moved into second place on the all-time list for most runs in women’s international cricket, reaching 10,750 runs, while former India captain Mithali Raj remains first with 10,868.

Thailand won the toss and opted to bowl, with Mandhana eventually being run out for 19. With Jemimah Rodrigues unavailable due to injury, Pratika Rawal was handed her T20I debut for India. Rawal scored 22 off 18 balls before being dismissed, marking her first appearance in the format for the national side.
