India is likely to get relief from the recent LPG shortage as the LPG tanker Shivalik, owned by the Shipping Corporation of India, has reached Mundra Port in Gujarat’s Kutch district. The vessel departed from Ras Laffan Port in Qatar carrying approximately 40,000 to 46,000 metric tonnes of LPG and successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz before arriving in India.
Another LPG tanker, Nanda Devi, which also departed from Ras Laffan Port, is currently approaching the Gujarat coast and is expected to arrive at Kandla Port at around 6:30 AM on March 17. Together, the two ships are transporting about 92,700 metric tonnes of LPG, which is expected to help ease gas supply pressures across the country.
